AI Engineer (VP) – Top Investment Bank Location: Glasgow Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite

About the Role

We’re hiring a hands-on engineering leader (VP level) to shape the future of our Dart platform, a core infrastructure enabling Quantitative and Strat developers to build next-generation trading solutions.

What You’ll Do

Lead and innovate across hybrid environments, scaling platform capabilities and accelerating AI adoption:

• Architect and develop advanced platform services for AI-powered trading workflows

• Potentially lead a small team of engineers, fostering technical excellence while remaining hands-on

• Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams to align capabilities and reduce duplication

• Design secure, scalable, and cost-efficient systems using AWS and Kubernetes

• Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for AI/ML infrastructure

• Influence cross-functional teams and champion modern engineering approaches

• Stay ahead of the curve in Generative AI, ML infrastructure, and cloud-native tooling

Tech Stack

• Programming: Python (Java familiarity is a plus)

• Cloud: AWS (S3, Kinesis, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, SageMaker, and more)

• On-Prem: Managed Kubernetes Platform, Hadoop ecosystem

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in software or data engineering, ideally in platform or infrastructure roles

• Strong Python programming skills with a focus on code quality and testing

• Proven experience applying Generative AI in front-office or capital markets environments

• Deep expertise in AWS services including S3, Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, ECS, IAM, KMS, API Gateway, Step Functions, MSK, and CloudFormation

• Passion for hands-on engineering and leading small, agile teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with on-prem Hadoop and Kubernetes

• Familiarity with AWS cost optimization tools

• Understanding of front-office developer workflows in financial services
