We’re working with a leading technology-driven financial services firm to identify an experienced Systems Reliability Engineer. This role is critical to ensuring the stability and performance of complex, distributed systems that underpin trading operations.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for improving reliability, scalability, and maintainability across the technology stack. The position involves real-time operational responsibilities such as monitoring, incident management, and recovery, alongside proactive initiatives like automation and process optimisation. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering and business teams to ensure systems run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee technical operations for mission-critical trading platforms.
• Develop tools for monitoring and automation to reduce manual intervention.
• Troubleshoot issues across hardware, software, and network layers.
• Participate in change management processes and post-incident reviews.
• Document configurations and mentor teams on best practices for reliability.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience with Linux, Python, Bash, and Git.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible or similar).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, multicast, packet-level troubleshooting).
• Familiarity with data centre workflows and hardware (Cisco, Arista, Solarflare).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise effectively.
