AI Engineer (AVP) – Top Investment Bank Location: Glasgow Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite

We’re hiring a hands-on AI Engineer (AVP level) to help shape the future of our Dart platform—a critical infrastructure supporting Quantitative and Strat developers in building next-generation trading solutions.

What You’ll Do

You’ll design, build, and innovate across both cloud and on-prem environments, scaling platform capabilities and driving AI adoption:

  • Architect and develop cutting-edge platform services for AI-driven trading

  • Collaborate with internal infrastructure and platform teams to align capabilities and avoid duplication

  • Design and implement secure, cost-aware, and scalable systems using AWS services and Kubernetes

  • Contribute to best practices for AI/ML infrastructure and mentor junior engineers as needed

  • Work across organizational boundaries and champion modern engineering trends

  • Stay ahead of the curve in Generative AI, ML infrastructure, and cloud-native tooling

 

Tech Stack

  • Programming: Python (Java familiarity is a plus)

  • Cloud: AWS (S3, Kinesis, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, SageMaker, and more)

  • On-Prem: Managed Kubernetes Platform, Hadoop ecosystem

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–10 years of experience in software or data engineering, ideally in platform or infrastructure roles

  • Strong programming skills in Python, with a passion for code quality and testing

  • Demonstrable experience applying Generative AI concepts (ideally in a front-office or capital markets environment)

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, ECS, IAM, KMS, API Gateway, Step Functions, MSK, and CloudFormation

  • Experience working in fast-paced front-office environments, either in engineering or analytical roles

  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for hands-on engineering

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with on-prem Hadoop and Kubernetes

  • Familiarity with AWS cost management and optimization tools
