Role: Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Krakow (3 days per week in the office)

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Digital Operations Stream at a leading investment bank. This is a critical role with immediate impact – you'll be driving our cloud migration initiative, moving applications from on-premises and VM environments onto Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.

 

The Challenge

You'll be taking ownership of migrating one on-premises application and two cloud-based VM applications to containerised, clustered environments. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role where you'll manage everything from infrastructure configuration to production observability.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Migrating applications from VMs to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters
  • Configuring and managing Helm charts for application deployments
  • Deploying and maintaining applications in Kubernetes clusters
  • Managing all Azure infrastructure configuration and services
  • Implementing observability solutions for microservices in production
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Working with the full Azure technology stack
  • Navigating the bank's internal processes and Azure wrapper

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Azure - Deep, hands-on experience (must have been focused on Azure for the last few years)
  • Kubernetes - Production experience with container orchestration and AKS
  • GitLab - CI/CD pipelines and version control
  • Terraform - Infrastructure as Code for Azure environments
  • Senior-level experience - Properly balanced skillset with several years of focused Azure DevOps work
  • Strong communication skills - Ability to navigate complex organisational processes

 

Bonus Skills & Experience:

  • GitHub Actions experience
  • Java knowledge

What We’re Looking For

 

Must-have skills:

6+ years of hands-on UI development experience.
Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS (hooks), Redux, Context API, HTML5, CSS3, Styled Components, Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library, Design Patterns, Git, and Webpack.
Experience with E2E/Functional Testing using Cypress or Playwright.
Solid integration background with REST, JSON, and APIs.
Strong clean coding and refactoring skills.
Experience with Agile methodologies, Continuous Integration, and Test Driven Development (TDD).
Excellent problem-solving ability and communication skills.


Nice to have:

Event-driven architecture experience.
Contract testing knowledge.
Interest in distributed systems and resilient software.
