Broadcast Network Engineer/s | 24-month FTC | London, UK 

Caspian One are proud to be partnering with one of the businesses who brings the Premier League to our screens worldwide, supporting the growth of their dedicated Broadcast Network Engineering team

We are seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Network Engineer to join our 24/7 Technical Operations Centre. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless, high-availability delivery of live match day content and associated services to global broadcasters.

You’ll be part of a dedicated team responsible for monitoring and managing complex IP and video networks, working under the pressure of live Tier-1 sports broadcasting. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile contract and develop deep technical expertise in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage technical aspects of live transmissions, including service check-in/out and real-time monitoring
  • Monitor and troubleshoot across network, video, and system domains
  • Handle IP transport streams (RTP, ST 2022-7, SRT), routing protocols (Arista, OSPF, BGP), and video encoders (Mediakind, Appear)
  • Use tools like TAG, Bridgetech, Zabbix, and Grafana to ensure service quality
  • Provide customer support and collaborate with partners to resolve issues
  • Lead incident management and reporting, including root cause analysis
  • Maintain documentation and follow change management processes
  • Support system upgrades, patching, and security hardening
  • Participate in team rotas to ensure matchday coverage

Essential Skills

  • Experience as a Network or Broadcast Engineer in live media environments
  • Strong understanding of live sports broadcast workflows
  • Proficiency in IP networking (TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, Multicast, ST 2022-7, SRT)
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Arista, Net Insight, Mediakind, Appear
  • Skilled in monitoring tools (TAG, Bridgetech, Zabbix, Grafana)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Net Insight Nimbra, Arista EOS, Techex TX Edge
  • Knowledge of video/audio encoding (MPEG-4 AVC, HEVC), fibre optics
  • Proficiency in Linux/Windows; MacOS is a plus
  • Experience with booking/automation systems (e.g., MediaPulse)
  • Degree in engineering or related field
  • Python scripting for automation/monitoring
